I cannot tell you how proud I am to work with nurses who not only know what they are doing and do it well, but are willing to make fools out of themselves for the happiness of children.
My kids are incredibly adorable and strong! They deal with chronic conditions and I have no idea how they deal with it. I swear, all they want to do is play.
And the parents.... Since I have no kids of my own, I can only imagine how hard it is to watch your child be sick. I can only imagine how hard it is not to be able to control the situation- to make things better or make the healing process go by quicker. I can only imagine how hard it is to wait and see if the chemo is working. But they do it. They stay by their child's side and help them take each medication, hold their hand and stroke their hair during procedures, and try and keep hope alive.
How can I NOT be inspired when I work/interact with people like this?
